Iranian
football match to be held in Emirates
In a statement, the AFC
says several countries have issued travel alerts to Iran. Earlier, the
country's football federation said it was banned from hosting any international
matches inside Iran. In a statement on Friday, they received a letter from the
Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The Iranian team has decided to host AFC
Champions League matches in a neutral country.
The Iranian Football
Federation also said an immediate meeting was held to resolve the situation. In
addition, the manager of four clubs representing Iran in the tournament will
meet on Saturday. The four teams are Persepolis, Ishtakalal, Sefahan and Sahri
Khudru.
The country's football
federation says the final decision on Iranian clubs will be announced in the
coming days. However, the reason why it was banned was not mentioned.A
spokesman for the federation, Amir Mehdi Alvi, said Iran was ready to invite
foreign parties. They are determined to ensure the safety of AFC matches.
"We are fully prepared to host foreign teams," he said. We have
proved that in recent years. He was last seen hinting at the final matches of
the AFC Champions League in Tehran. It is unclear whether the AFC's decision
has anything to do with Ukraine's airstrike in the mistaken missile attack.
